Thanks to a very generous Matching Grant, your GIFT and your IMPACT will be DOUBLED!
Your gifts will be matched dollar for dollar up to $25,000.
Spring is time to get things done, and a Matching Grant will make double the difference.
The dollar doesn't go as far as it used to, but it will go TWICE as far with this Matching Grant opportunity! And we have A LOT to get done.
-DOUBLE YOUR DOLLARS!-
Thanks to a very generous Matching Grant, every dollar you give through April 30 will be matched up to $25,000 for a total of $50,000!
When you give $25, it will be matched with another $25 so that your gift is DOUBLED to $50. And when you give $100, it becomes $200. That means your gifts will not only be doubled but will have TWICE the impact!
Caring for a house full of orphans, providing education, hot lunches, and medical care for 318 students, running a low cost community medical clinic, and operating a farm that supplies our school and orphanage with fresh produce means that there are a lot of things to keep up and running, and it's all too often that an unexpected expense makes itself known.
We are hoping to raise at least $25,000 so that we can seize this opportunity to turn that into $50,000. That will make it possible for A LOT of important things to be done, such as:
- $11,000 : Solar panel batteries - We already have the solar panels (HURRAY!!!) but we need to purchase new batteries to keep them operational. Solar power not only saves a ton of money in utility bills, but it also keeps us going when the power goes out.
- $5,000 : Rototiller for the Farm - Last year, we received a gift toward the purchase of a rototiller, but procuring a reasonably-priced tiller in good condition in Haiti has proven to be an impossible task. We still want to make this happen, though! A rototiller will be a game changer for our farm team, and the literal fruit it will help to produce will bless the children in our care richly.
- $1,500 : Konbit - While a rototiller will do the heavy lifting on the Farm, a few extra hands pitching in will reduce weeks of toil into mere days. With help from this group of migrant farm workers, our two resident farmers will be able to conquer the explosion of weeds the rainy seasons brings and sow a crop that will sustain the children in our care. This amount will cover two seasons of farm work.
- $4,000 : Homeschool teacher for Leilah - Our precious little Angel House resident is wheelchair bound, which is something our school campus sadly cannot accommodate. This girl is ready to learn, though, and we want to make that happen! Until the roads are safe again to make the journey back and forth to a special needs campus across town, we will be bringing in a homeschool instructor to give Leilah the education she so desperately wants (and needs!)
- $600 : School supplies for Leilah - As well as a homeschool instructor, Leilah will need curriculum and other school supplies to give her the full education experience.
- $1,200 : New wheelchair equipment for Leilah - Not only is Leilah ready to expand her mind, but her little body is growing, too! That means her specialized wheelchair equipment is feeling a bit snug and needs to be replaced with big-girl parts. This purchase will include a chair corset for alignment and adjustments to her wheelchair, as well as new splints for those growing legs!
- $3,200 : Graduation - Graduation is just a couple of months away, and we'll have 30 preschoolers and 30 sixth graders donning caps and gowns to receive their diplomas! And not only their diplomas: each child will also receive a graduation photo, a class photo, and a Bible of their very own. Our very own Angel House resident graduate, Jhon, will be bidding adieux to preschool, and he'll need new clothing and shoes for the event. To wrap things up, a graduation celebration for students and their families will offer refreshments to make the occasion festive! Graduation is a HUGE event in the lives of these children, and celebrating their remarkable accomplishment in a country where only 60 percent of children get to attend school is worth commemorating.
- $3,000 : Fresh paint for school and clinic - It's been several years since these facilities were treated to a fresh coat of paint! And it's not just aesthetic; in this open, tropical climate, quality paint offers a great deal of protection and helps to prevent damage that would be even more costly to repair.
- $2,400 : Special Events - There are a plethora of occasions that take place behind the scenes-- you know the type: occasions that bring joy, anticipation, nostalgia, and meaning to the day to day, year to year. Things such as cake for celebrating birthdays at school each month, honoring our instructors on Teachers' Day, school's annual Art Expo (one of the most anticipated events of the year!), celebrating our nannies on Mothers' Day (a HUGE occasion in Haiti!), and birthday (and farewell!) parties for the children in our care at Angel House.
- $1,300 : School kitchen cabinet replacement - If you consider our open-air school kitchen serves hot lunch to 318 children and our entire school staff every school day, it's not hard to imaging that it also gets more wear-and-tear than the typical kitchen. Our hardworking cabinets are in need of replacement, and we think they've earned it!
- $1,200 : Generator maintenance - We are SO thankful for our generator! And we want to make sure it serves us well for years and years to come. That mean twice yearly maintenance is key. This amount will fund that maintenance for the entire year.
- $900 : Replace teacher desks - Three of our teachers are in desperate need of new desks, and this amount would fully fund all three replacements.
- $500 : Library books - Refreshing our library selections annually has proven to be a very good strategy! Under the guidance of our resident social worker, our students have discovered the joy of reading and the community of sharing ideas and knowledge. We couldn't be happier about that, and we want to keep that going with some exciting new books!
- $300 : Water cooler - When you're hot and tired, a cool glass of water tastes like the most refreshing thing in the world! We want to offer that sublime experience on our school campus, and this amount would provide just that for less than $1 per student.
- $300 : Pressure washer - Keeping things clean and tidy in a tropical climate where over 300 children gather daily is not only super important but also quite a challenge! A pressure washer will help our maintenance staff to reach their goals in less time for less effort.
Any funds received that exceed what is listed here will go toward our school lunch program (currently over $5,000 a month to feed 318 children!) as well as any other unanticipated expenses that arise.
Make your dollars go twice as far when you give through this Matching Grant campaign!
THANK YOU!
